POSH PAWS!

Try something new this Spring and open your heart and home to a homeless pet at the Cantoni Contemporary Furniture Adoption Fair -- POSH PAWS EVENT supporting Houston's All-Breed, No-Kill Rescue Groups. Pet experts will be conducting free seminars for pet lovers at the fair from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, on Saturday, June 7, at 9889 Westhiemer at Cantoni.

Topics include enriching seminars teaching medical care and poison control, pet CPR, pet laws, pet communication, and pet adoption. The speakers include Attorney Zandra Anderson, local veterinarian Dr. Lucy Faulkner, Houston's renowned dog trainer Jim Burwell of Petiquitte, FrontLine and Heartgard Prevention Representative, Ember Thompson and famous pet intuitive Myra Logan.

This event is for owners and their pets and anyone interested in adopting a homeless pet. There will be interactive events for dogs and prizes to be won every week end in June. Local artists will also be there to create one of kind gifts. The proceeds from donations and unique pet items sold will be donated to three of Houston's leading non-profit, no-kill pet adoption organizations- Friends for Life, Homeless Pet Placement League, Homeless Orphan Pets Endeavor. Houston has the second highest number of pets that are put to death in the U.S., and our speakers and sponsors hope to find loving homes for nearly 40 dogs and 15 cats during this event.

    Both are male, nurtured, and very energetic. The right (Sky) is very outgoing, fun, and full of energy. The one on the left (Thunder) is quite and laid back. He is more teamed of the pair, in training for that, but once he is comfortable he is great. He is loyal, takes direction well and enjoys being by your side. They are crate trained. They have never been apart. I would like to keep them together. These dogs need an experienced handler and, at this point, should not be around small children.

Who attended?

    • “ I was there with my poochie Angel for approx 21/2 hrs and we didn't see much other than the adoption/resuce workers and one or two venders. I got there at 10:00am and the workers were still setting up and we kept waitig for the crowd but no crowd to be seen. Did anyone else attend this event? I would like to say that Angel and I made several donations to the different agencies that were in attendance. ”
